Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@R3solar.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Solar panels have a useful life ranging from 20-40 years.

In most cases, no.  Decommissioning, removing, or relocating a solar project is not easy, and requires detailed planning, scheduling, compliance with multiple government authorities, and in some cases requires a permit and involvement from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Yes, however you must assess each project on a case-by-case basis, as multiple factors could result in a costly, or not, temporary removal experience.

It depends. The nature of the situation, the reason they are being removed, and the intention for what to do with the solar after it is removed can all affect cost.  In all cases, solar panels should stay operating and untouched unless absolutely necessary.

This is the most common reason solar needs to be removed and/or reinstalled.  We work closely with roofing companies to ensure a seamless and coordinated process, and that any work removing and reinstalling solar is in compliance with the roofing company’s and manufacturer’s warranties.

The first step is to request a site visit with us and your roofers and we will work together to evaluate options.  If you need a referral to a roofer, we’ve got you.
